Good afternoon

I Recently suffered from an absess between my cheeks, very quickly it was diagnosed and i went for surgery that night to have it drained.

This was about 3 months ago, the hole has just about fully closed but i am still suffering from muscle pain on the other cheek and slight weeping from the wound.

I visited my gp recently and he had a good look and advised it was healing well but could be another 1-2 months to heal fully, he didnt however mention the muscle pain on the other side.

Is this normal, i thought it may be just that im favouring that side and im not used to putting pressure on it but im not sure.

Has any one else experienced this kind of muscle pain and if so does it go away.

Thanks

Hi Kaijuu, do you have crohns or no? Because that greatly affects your healing time for abscesses. Those without crohns apparently have much better luck with them healing in a few months. The soreness could definitely be from putting pressure on the side, because you are sitting awkwardly perhaps for many hours to avoid putting pressure on the wound. I'm used to sitting leaning one side slightly out of habit even when it's not sore, although it's not great for the back either!
