Hi,

I had a resection about 3 months ago, I'm still experiencing a bit of pain in my stomach but i'm guessing this will take time because of the muscles.

I want to know is it safe to drink alcohol 3 months after a resection surgery at the terminal ileium?

I don't want to make things worse. I usually don't drink very much anyway maybe one or two drinks.

Hi i had a small glass of wine about a month n half after my re-section n ileostomy. I was fine with that. Try just a small amount n see how u feel. You could also just check with your doc to be on the safe side. Best wishes đź’•

I am six weeks postop and can have a little wine. How are you doing with fiber? I seem to have issues with corn, which I didn't before, and possibly any vegetables with skin. I am still trying to figure it out. Also, I can no longer handle caffeine. At any rate, I am more food intolerant now than I was before surgery, at least except for the very end when I was dealing with a stricture, and I am very interested in other people's experience.

I'd say give it a try if:

Not on pain meds
Current meds don't interact with alcohol (check with the pharmacist)
Don't overdo it...may result in diarrhea.

I like a beer on occasion.
