So I just recently started remicade on April 25, I feel great! I'm so ecstatic it's working for me. So now my question.... I haven't drank any type of alcohol since I was diagnosed last April.
When would it be safe to try and see if it would bother me? How long should I wait until I try? I would really appreciate people's own opinions and experiences!

Thanks! :)

I can drink a cooler without too many negative effects but I haven't pushed beyond that. Whenever you decide to try I would start with low alcohol content and take it slow, have some safe snacks when you drink. Good luck and glad the remicade is working!

Well, Remicade wasn't The Medication for me, unfortunately, so my getting into remission took a bit longer and was a bit more difficult.

When I was sick still I could feel the instant alcohol hit my stomach and it would send me running to the washroom. Once I got better and was entering remission that wasn't a problem anymore. It may be different for you.

I never had any problem drinking alcohol on Remicade, as long as my illness was already under control. :p Enjoy!

Hi! I recently was prescribed Predisone. After being unable to sleep for three days I stopped taking it. I am now having stomach pains again. :( Any information you can share with your experience with Predisone would be appreciated. I am newly diagnosed with Crohns.

I would stay on prednisone, and you also can't drop it cold-turkey like that because you will get withdrawal or other potential side-effects. :( You could ask for entocort instead which isn't as strong, but prednisone is really the medication you need to kick yourself into remission and help heal. Otherwise you're going to be looking into biologics, since immunosuppressants take longer to kick in and biologics are pretty fast.

Indiana_peach, the ocean is right, you can't drop prednisone cold turkey! You have to taper off of it. Prednisone has MANY crappy side effects including insomnia, bruising, heat flashes, headaches, dizziness, weight gain, chills, uneven heartbeat and a bunch more! And I had most of these!! Prednisone is a good medication to take to help with the inflammation going on in your intestines! It really helps! Even though the side effects are pretty crappy!
Once you taper down and are on a lower dosage the side effects go away ( right now I'm on 7.5 mg and I'm just a fat cow lol gained about 20lbs of water weight... Fortunately it'll come off once I'm off prednisone.

If you have any questions feel free to ask! ( I was diagnosed last year so I'm fairly new to all this also!) :) good luck darling!!
