Hello,
My son (12 yrs) was taking aloe capsules for a while and then we stopped. the dr said that it wouldn't hurt if we wanted to have him on them, but wasn't sure if they helped either. My son has been on Remicade for just over a year. It was working well until this summer. They did an MRI and found the the area in the ileum has grown and he will need surgery; We meet w/ the surgeon in a week or so. After surgery, I want to put him back on an Aloe supplement, along with increasing the fish oil to 1500mg (right now he only takes 500mg/daily), also I need to talk to the doctor about b-complex supplements.
Anyone else tried aloe? We were using the products from aloe elite and I will be getting them from there again, thanks for any advicde

I don't know about the supplements, but perhaps you can look into trying the real aloe plant. You can cut it up into cubes, and give him a few little cubes a day. They taste bitter, but they leave a slimey protective coat on the intestines if I'm right. This all was told to me, I have to take a further look into it too. I hope the surgery goes well. Best of luck.

Hi. I give my daughter aloa vera liquid, since she will not take the natural one, because it taste awful, I buy the one from Herbalife, (mango flavor) every morning with an empty stomach. Instead of fish Oil, we use flaxseed oil, They are supposed to help, since they are both inflammation fighters. Best wishes for yous son and you. Hope surgery goes very good.

We don't know yet. She went down on prednisone but it was to fast, so she is having some problems. Went back to same dose and will start tamper again but slowly. Have appointment with GI Wednesday.

Well, came back from GI. Remicade is not working yet. Decided to give it one more chance. Third dose will be December 28. She need to get out of prednisone, so we will start tamper tomorrow. This time very slow. Options if Remi does not kick in...add Imuran.
I really hope next year will be better than this one. How is your son doing?

Hi there, the remicade isn't working yet? Peyton's worked from the first time, but everyone is different i guess. Peyton is doing well this week, no issues so far. I have been doing a ton of research on homeopathic ways to treat crohns, I have an appt with a holistic doctor today (just a phone appt). I just want to know our options and get more educated. I don't want to stop the remicade or any other drugs if they are working but I want to make sure his system is supported, and if we can do that with suppliments, i would feel better. I'll let you know what I find out. we meet with the surgeon on tuesday next week. I'll let you know what happens :) Hang in there!
