Am I having a flare?

Help....am I having a flare?

I was diagnosed in Nov 2010. I'm currently on 2 x 500mg of Mesalazine and 50mg Azathioprine (they tried me on more but my body can't take it and I was just sick all the time). I've had symptoms on and off since, but over the last week I am exhausted, I have no energy at all, I struggle to even find the energy to go upstairs. I am getting abdominal pains again, and getting sharp pains further up from my stomach. I feel so weak and dizzy and feel like my eyes are sunk in my head.

My stools are getting soft too....and I've been having mucus hoping full blown diarrehea doesn't follow

Is this a flare? I've not classed the pains I've had on and off as a flare as they are quite common, but I'm suffering extreme fatigue too and the other symptoms. So I'm guessing this is my first real flare since I was diagnosed?

I'm going to ring my IBD nurse tomorrow. Any advice would be much appreciated

It's my wedding in 3 months.....it better go soon!!

I'm sorry to say that it does sound like you're probably flaring. Good to hear that you're planning to get checked tomorrow. Better to get checked now while you're not too bad. The stress may have done it. Hope you feel better soon. Lisa

Thank you best thing is...I'm not stressed, I love planning my wedding so have been really happy and nasty mr. crohnie has still come out to play! lol.

No problem Sometimes the symptoms just come for no reason, even if you are excited! Glad to hear that you're happy! That helps a lot I flared a bit before my wedding too a little over 12 years ago. Enjoy this time as much as you can! Take care.

Hi All,

Just an update spoke to my IBD nurse and consultant and they think it may be the azathioprine and not a flare! So they are now prescribing me 6mp?
