I started a new job at the end of October. I work for a very large insurance company, the benefits are great, the job is awesome.
I was trying to avoid the "I am chronically sick" topic but that didn't pan out because my need for frequent restroom breaks was noticed. I thought I was getting in trouble because lets face it, normally that is something you get in trouble for in the workplace. But as it turned out, my manager just wanted to know what was going on so that accommodations could be made for me.
So now I am in contact with the the Americans with disabilities act department, they are coming up with a solution to allow for me to use the bathroom when I need it with out it affecting my performance. They are also going to provide me with a better chair to help with my AS.
I am so impressed with this company, they are so willing to help in anyway that they can to ensure my success. I mean, they have a whole department just to help people with disabilities. In my experience, thats not a very common practice.
