Anal fistula/abscess?

Hey guys!
So, I think I may have an anal abscess/fistula. My primary care sent me to a gynecologist because she thought I have a bartholin's gland duct cyst, but gyno said NOPE. "Talk with your GI." I left my GI nurse a message, and am now just waiting to hear back from them.

I've not yet had a fistula or abscess, but from what I'm seeing as far as symptoms, this seems to line up. I about came off the table when the gyno squeezed it.

Anybody who's had experience with fistulas and abscesses have any thought or comments?

I hope not :( was she not able to tell you if it was an abscess at least? X

I don't think she wanted to say for sure (this is my first time going to this gyno, so I don't know her very well), but she said definitely call your GI. I have wondered if it was an abscess for a while. It got a bit better on antibiotics but returned a few days after they were done. The gyno was saying it could be an infected hair follicle, but my logic is asking "wouldn't that have been remedied by TWO rounds of antibiotics?" I about kicked her in the chops when she touched it, too....not intentionally, of course. Fun Times!

I have since talked to my GI nurse Nicole, and she wants me to come in as soon as possible--which for me, is early next week. So, they can look at it and (hopefully) give me something definite.

:( it does sound very much like an abscess that will possibly need I&D if the antibiotics have not worked!

They're horrible bloody things and so painful. I really feel for you. All I would say (from experience) get it dealt with sooner rather than later xxx

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. I will be glad to just get it dealt with! Even if it's not an abscess, I trust my GI to get it figured out. That's why I drive an hour and a half to go there. They know my issues and they get stuff done. :)
