I am still in the midst of trying to figure out what is wrong with me. Been told I have IBS, but never had any tests to confirm it. I have a long history or other health issues that started 9 years ago. Since then I have been diagnosed with the following ( dysmotility of small bowel, interstitial cystits, fibromyalgia, possible lyme or undeifferenciated connective tissue disease, grade 1 heart murmur). So I have a long history of issues which all started after I got sick with a flu type virus 9 years ago which was likely caused by the flu shot I had gotten 2 weeks before I became very ill.
Ok so that is a little history. I have been through alot of tests per-say, I have had 8 upper endoscopies in the last 9 years, esophogram, had a colonoscopy 8 years ago, small bowel follow through 8 years ago as well, small bowel manometry( tests funtion of small bowel), and quite a few other tests along the way. Last year I came down with a stomach bug and have not been right since. I would have intermittent bouts of pain and tenderness in the intestines, even my abdominal muscles would be sore. It would come and go. I also have been on a low dose antibiotic for three years to control UTI's, so I though maybe the antibitoic was causing all these gut issues, still not sure if it is or not. I also take a ton of probitoitcs. Well for the last month I have had pretty near constant intestinal pain, crampiness and tenderness all throughout my intestines and digestive tract. I had only 1 episode of diareha( I also had my period at the time so my gut always gets worse when I have my period) but other than that my stoll is usually normally formed, but usually on the softer side. But I have this awful crmapiness and tenderness and just icky feelings inside all the time that gets worse after I poop. I was told by my regular doc and GI that I more than likely have IBS.
So as to my question about anal skin tags: I have an anal skin tag ( also have hemmroids) have had the skin tag for a very long time though. Does having a skin tag mean a person is more likely to have crohns disease? I have had the hemmroids for a long time( think when I had my son I got them). I always thought that anal skin tags were common in alot of people. I guess what I am asking is just because a person has a skin tag, does that make them more at risk for crohns? Now that I am having all these gut issues I am somewhat worried. I see my gastro doc next week and will ask him about all this. Thanks for any input..
