Hi.
Last night when my husband was helping me by putting in my Canasa, I heard "Woah what's that!!!". I was able to look at it this morning and find pictures of it on the internet and from pictures, it looks like an anal skin tag.

I'm finding that I'm getting a bit of constipation, occasional blood with bowel movements, and anal pain along with lots of gas. But, no dripping blood so far.

I have never had one of these and am wondering if they can go away on their own? Is it safer to tell my GI about it? I've noticed that if they are cut off, they do bleed quite a bit.

For those of you who have had these, I would appreciate your expertise on this. Thank you!

Hi. I've had both fissures and skin tags. It was years ago but I don't ever recall the doctor doing anything to them. I don't have them now but I also have a permanent ileo. Sorry I can't be more help.

i would suggest going to a colorectal surgeon and showing him your bottom. Get a diagnosis. A skin tag is usally present if you have had a fissure for a year or more...and fissures can heal themselves. If it is very painful every time you poo, probably a fissure.

Yup, it's painful every time I go & spend a bit of time on the pot. But, hurts the most when I wipe. No diarrhea though. Very sore to the touch. Although, it's not painful when I pass wind. However, it feels a bit different (than normal) when I do.

sounds like a fissure....plenty of info out there. I found the Rectogesic wipes were amazing at helping it heal...that and eating healthy and not going to the toilet much.

Not the greatest news. But, I'll take that especially being able to heal. Already eat healthy so that's a help. Will look into those wipes & ask my pharmacist friend. Thanks for the info! Take care. :)

there is a 'garden variety' anal fissure and a crohns anal fissure....i would suggest showing your bottom to a specialist and they can say YES it is a fissure or No it isnt.....its part of having crohns these arse problems, I have just been through it and had three hemaroids tied and fixed a fissure. NO, not much fun, but nothing really - i mean compared to having active crohns and feeling crappy all day and night.

There is a help for anal skin tags, fissures and fistulars! I have them all and started when I was 8 but wasn't diagnosed with crohns disease till I was 12.
I am now 17 going on 18 and just started a new medication and within two treatments they are almost all gone after all these years of docs saying nothing can be done! Bullshit hahaah this is amazing stuff I am over the moon, never thought this day would come :)

The medication is called HUMIRA go to your doctor! You inject yourself with one pen in the tummy every two weeks. First week you have 4 then in two weeks time have 2 then after that once every fortnight for 12 months and if it goes well you can continue it. Now you don't need it for life and it can be changed over time to only once every 6 months and 8 months! Hell yes.

Now it's very expensive but if you are covered it is only $36 for 6 pens (originally its $5,000 per pen so in a box set its $30,000) not to worry though :) just $36 for us! Lucky huh!

I highly recommend this to everyone who is suffering my darlings! My confidants is back and I have never ever been better. As soon as I got these results I just had to come and tell you all, there is hope! This is something people have been waiting to hear. I'm not going to keep this from any of you, I came here and registered on this page just to get the word out and I hope you will spread this to everyone. All crohns suffers deserve something to make their lives easier, we have all come so far and I hope HUMIRA will work for you too :)

Love, Sarah xx
P.S I have a very bad case down below and now I have one tag left that is shrinking down to nothing and my fissures and such are healing up nicely, within in no time at all, less then 2 weeks. :ghug:

Sarah I'm happy Humira has helped you. Thank you for sharing your success. Unfortunately for myself and many others we have had bad reactions or no response to Humira and have tried other drugs. It's funny how some medications can be ones miracle and the next persons poison.
