Good morning everybody,

I'm taking 40 mg prednisone and 50 mg 6 mp for the last week. This morning I woke up at 4 am with terrible pain in one of my ankles. I thought that the pred would prevent any inflamation in my articulations. Is this something that is normal?

Except for ice I'm nto sure what I should do to help with the pain it's quite high and continous. Any suggestions? There is no swelling just lots of pain.

Thanks

I had the same thing when I was on 40 mg. Prednisone back in September. Not much helped except an extra strength Tylenol every morning and I'm not sure if you take this but I found that at least 1,000 mg. of Calcium+ Vitamin D every morning after breakfast really helped me get through the days with aching joints in my legs. I think that you are supposed to take calcium when you are on Prednisone anyway but I just found it helped a bit with the pain. And in the States you can get really yummy chewable ones that taste like creamsicles. Maybe you could try this? Let us know how it goes! ;)
