Anoscopy! anestesia?

So tomorrow Im heading to the proctologist for the first time so he can check what appears to be a fissure I have...its causing me a LOT ALOT ALOT of pain...God its horrible....I also have a large anal skin tag that makes it worse because it hurts because i thinks its also a hemorroid....

So I am nervous that this proctologist will perform the anoscopy with just lube...I WILL DIE if he does that....the pain will be unbearable..i also have low pain tolerance. Is this performed with anestesia? local ? general? none?/

Jesus Christ why does this happen to me! im only 22!! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

poor you! try not to worry, I'm sure they'll give you some anaesthesia.

thanks Joan. yes i read the wikipedia thats why i panic and came to ask this question because a 3-4 inch thing with just lube going up my butt ...let me rephrase...going up my severe swollen and fissured/hemorrid' butt sounds like the most cruciating pain!
