Bolton,
I am getting so fed up of this happening to me. I felt fine, had tea with my daughter and only had spaghetti bolognese that we've had a million times before. Cleared up and went into the living room and before I knew it it had just happened.

I rushed off to get cleaned up and then had to shower and clean the whole bathroom after me and I'm just so fed up of this happening. Usually I get a couple of minutes warning that I need to go but this just came over me all at once. Luckily I was at home but this is becoming an almost monthly thing and I've not changed any of my recipes or things that I eat.

Does anyone else have any experience of this almost incontinence that seems to be happening?

I'm sorry. That really sucks. I have had it happen to me in public places. Very embarrassing. Mine cleared mostly up because it was C Diff but maybe talk to your doc. Maybe you need to switch some meds

Have you tried incontinence pads? Not the tiny ones you can get in the supermarket for bladder weaknesses, your GP should be able to refer you to a continence service who can find you the right products. Before I got an ileostomy, I used to have this problem. The pads were free on the NHS and delivered to my house (they came in a "discreet" package). I know it's not an ideal solution, but they do protect your clothes and give you a bit more confidence when going out.

Hopefully you'll be able to find a treatment as well. It sounds like it's just that the diarrhoea is very urgent; you don't have problems with the nerves that mean you don't know when you need to go, or the sphincter muscles controlling it? If that's so, if your doctor can treat the diarrhoea, or get the disease under control so the diarrhoea stops, you shouldn't have this problem. How long has it been going on for?
