oh geeze!.....is that an actual cast or a kind of soft one? Looks like a wierd position for the wrist to be set in....

If you get itchy - find a knitting needle to use to scratch - point isn't sharp, but long enough to get in there!.....

Try to keep it elevated to help with swelling, and don't try to do too much with it.....find some nice comfy clothes you don't need both hands for to get into/out of - especially shirts!

If/when you need to shower - a bread bag works well for protecting the cast - they are usually long enough to cover, and use packing or duct tape to close it (watch for catching hairs if your arms are hairy!).....still try not to get it soaked.....this is how my Mom managed to swim with a broken wrist!

Good luck with it - hope it heals quickly with no complications!!!

thanks, yeh its a full pot, i didnt bother going to the hospital until 5days later (too busy having fun lol). think thats why they had to manipulate it into that position.

will give thebread bag a go (except the swimming lol)

cheers :)

Ah, you have my sympathies! Broke my foot two weeks ago and, like you, I walked about on it for a week before I realised it was broken.
I got a cast cover called a LimbO off the Internet for showering. Really good as it has a good rubber seal at the top. Also read on the Net that if it gets really itchy inside, a blast down it with the hairdryer on a cool setting is good. Haven't tried it yet myself.

So it's your dominate hand then? Because you know what they say about using the other hand. I'm sure that would give you great amusement.

Sorry Rygon but how could I resist!

So you've already tried it I see. Oh well at least you won't have DSB to add to your woes. :)

hahaha. imhoping to build up my muscles on my left arm as much as i have my right, any exercise is a good thing right? :p
