It helps to know your specific symptoms so that suggestions more related to your own condition can be offered.
But I personally can recommend this in general....rest, rest, rest!! your body needs time to rest so that it can heal some. I would stick to soft-bland foods to give your gut a break. A good starter diet for easing symptoms is the BRAT diet (bananas, rice, toast, applesauce) but know that what you can tolerate for food will be different for everyone, so if this is causes you pain or discomfort, a softer, blander diet or even a liquid diet might be helpful until you can see your doctor. Stay away from high-fiber foods which require your digestive system to work even harder to break down and process thus causing more pain and discomfort. Limit or entirely eliminate your dairy intake...especially milk which can cause bloating, gas, discomfort.
Hot water bottles or heating pads work wonders. AVOID aspirin as it can irritate the lining of your intestines. Use Tylenol (acetaminophen/non-aspirin) if you need a pain reliever.
Try to stretch or walk if you are able. it can actually help with some pain and stress (stress can be a trigger for crohn's and make things feel even worse) but if you are very unwell rest is more important.
Good luck with your doctor appointment. I hope they are able to find something to help treat your crohn's!
