David has just posted a thread about immunisations and immunosuppressives..........................

When the GI was considering Humira for Matt I was questioned about his status regarding Chicken Pox, TB, Hep A, B, and C, Meningococcal and his other childhood immunisations. Blood tests were conducted for Hepatitis A, B & C and TB status.

i never got tested for humira but because i git the tb test for the inflixamab they didnt bother as they had tested me already.

I got tested for TB for Remicade, didn't need it for Humira as I had it for Remicade. Had to be chest x-rayed for both. Checks for infections, ANY kind of infection at all and I had to have a colonoscopy to prove I needed it and have to have it every year to show who ever pays out for it that I'm worth the cost :/

Yes, you need to be test for TB with a chest xray and blood test. And if your doc didn't tell you this, you need to find a new doc!!

I got tested for TB. Also, because I was in a bad flare - had a CT Scan to check for an abscess before going ahead with the meds. In my case, I did have an abscess. Having another CT Scan this week to make sure all is clear.

Interesting. I had a TB test but no x-ray. Another question to ask my new Crohns specialist that I love....:)
