Hello

Im Laura and im 21 weeeks pregnant with my first baby. I am taking Pentasa every day to stop a flare up occuring. My crohns disease has been under control for a year or so now and im lucky that the only symptoms that I get are bloating and trapped wind pains with the occasional desperate run to the loo!. When I try to come off the Pentasa I have alot of bleeding and musus from ulceration and cramping. (currently i have taken steriods to control consent loo trips but not in the last year)
Id love to chat with anyone else pregnant as recently im feeling the baby move and getting a lot of pain as she does so! Im guessing that my insides are very sore from ulceration and swelling and as the baby moves everything is being pushed and squished! Has anyone else experienced such pains? It would be lovely to read some of your previous pregnancy memories too

Many thanks for reading

Hey Laura! I'm also currently pregnant. I'm 27 weeks right now and can totally relate to the pain with movement. It gets so tricky sometimes knowing what pains are "just crohns" and when it's something different that I should be concerned about. All of the general pregnancy info out there seems fairly useless to flaring crohnie (for example persistent stomach pain or cramping means a problem with the baby), and I find it increasingly difficult to recognize my normal pains as they have an ever changing location depending on how the baby is squishing my intestines. I've also found my bathroom habits to be very different and unpredictable with this pregnancy. One day I'm having fairly normal bm's, and the next I can barely make it in time. I have also been waking up all throughout the night several nights a week in severe stomach pain that would normally mean a run to the toilet, but now is nothing more than terrible pain. I have just come off a steroid taper, but may have to go back on soon if this all persists. I'm avoiding it if at all possible though, because my little guy was underweight on the prednisone and has finally after a few weeks off been able to catch up.

It's good to talk with someone in a similar situation...thanks for posting! :)
