So, This has been going on like for a long time, im not sure if its related to some medication or what.

Every so often I will have a small area on my face that either a pimple or blackhead forms. I ussually just pop it right away and it just has a red mark for the next hour or so.

Other then that I ussually have great skin. Its wierd...

Anyone know of any medications that could cause acne or is this just me being young? lol

And also, anyone have any great home remidies for like nighttime so none will form?

I have horrible skin when I am on prednisone! Oily in some places, dry and flaky in others, spots and blotches. Otherwise, clear as can be.

I like to use diluted tea tree oil to help with the spots, it's soothing and less drying than peroxide.

Hi Ethan - What meds are you on?

Pred has made me break out the past couple months. I always had beautiful skin and now at age 42, I am getting zits like crazy!

A friend who is a nurse, for what that's worth, told me to wash my face with Dial anti-bacterial soap. I think it has helped! Also I have had the summer off and haven't been wearing any makeup and I think that helps. So maybe you should lay off the foundation, blush and eyeshadow and see if that helps. :)

PS I have also been suffering a horrible outbreak of acne on my ASS and upper legs. Nice right? I have horrible scarring there from those zits and now, even though I am in great shape physcially, I have to wear an old lady bathing suit bottom with a skirt to cover the scars.

If you find that your zits are leaving scars, Palmer's makes cocoa butter products that are great for clearing up marks.

Other than the pred. I get really bad acne when I'm flaring up. But instead of random spots showing up (caused by pred) I get a cluster of bumps on the corner of my mouth, my chin, and forehead. Sometimes I do think it's caused by the crohn's itself and not the meds.

I get random spots too, and I usually have great skin! I never really had issues with acne before I was diagnosed. Thank God for makeup! :D

I agree with that. When I am flaring my skin is way worse.

i rarely get spots now thank goodness, but until the last year i did get eruptions going on every so often, usually just when i was going out somewhere special :(

there's a gel you can buy over the counter here, called Differin.... it's one of the best i've tried. it works overnight, and by the morning the zit is really reduced in size and redness.
also, if you can stomach fizzy drinks, tonic water is great for the complexion.

Differin! That was what I used in high school when I broke out really bad and the doc suggested that. Didn't work much for me, but I had a nasty case of cystic acne rather than your run of the mill acne. Regular routines to a holistic spa for facials did the trick. That's the one thing I will do on a regular basis once I have the expendable income for it! Whenever that may be... ;)
