Has anyone heard of this guy? He seems to have overcome the symptoms of crowns through an extreme fitness regime:

Search for Ari Meisel, Less doing and Crohns as I can't put the link onto here yet, I'm a new member.

What are your opinions? And what about his vegetarian diet and his choice of supplements used?

I remember reading a news segment on him where they interviewed him and his GI, so there is some truth to his story, although he is probably not cured. From what i could tell it is a combination of his healthy diet and an herb called cats claw that is likely keeping in him a remission without drugs.

here is some more info

To be honest it's a tiny minority of people who can keeps to these regimes even if they work, there generally extreme.

I checked out his website a little. He seems like he's telling the truth about his story and I don't get a bad vibe from him at all. Some people can really get their crohn's into remission through diet change and excersize, but some people can't. Crohn's is different for everyone, and what works for you might not work for me. I could follow exactly what he did, and it might not work for me.

And yes, it's important to add that his Crohn's is in remission...not "cured" Crohn's is a chronic disease that can pop up and rear its head anytime. He could have a flare up again at some point in the future (although I hope he remains symptom free as long as possible)

But I guess it's worth taking on some of his ideas EVEN IF it is actually just remission he is chatting about and not a cure right?

Have any of you out there tried yoga? What sort of yoga is recognised as being beneficial to Crohns sufferers? Any ideas?

By the way, thanks for the input tzvia & wildbill_52280, very much appreciated. But I think that maybe Yoga could have some benefit for us? What do you reckon? I guess it's just trying to pick the right form of yoga though!

Yoga helps me for sure. I prefer Hatha Yoga instead of the "flow" type yoga. I like to hold the poses rather than "flow" through them quickly.

I've heard of various herbs working for people but every one I've tried so far has had no, or negative, effects on my digestion.

I'm of the belief that flares are always triggered and not random, so if he continues as he is I don't see why he shouldn't stay in remission.

I've tried pau d'arco, barely grass, black cumin seed oil, caprylic acid, undecylenic acid, l-glutamine, enzyme and probiotic supplements.

Thus far nothing has changed the fact that I need to be on a limited diet to remain symptom free.

Nice one guys, cheers for the advice on this one! Much appreciated, I've just bought some cats claw capsules so i'll let you know how I get on.

I'm also going to try and add some yoga into my routine!
