Reading,
So I had an appointment today with my new GI in Reading. This is because of having the abscess and fistula's my last GI thought it would be better if I was referred to an IBD specialist.
So basically he just wanted to know where I was at, my brief crohn's history. He was understanding that I wanted to finish my uni course before anything else happens. I only have a month left now so it doesn't seem like a big ask. I mentioned my recent aches and pains and niggling worries but he didn't seem too desperate to do anything.
He ordered a blood test, said he wanted an EUA soon, mentioned setons and infliximab. He also mentioned something else which sounded like infliximab but which was different... any ideas?
Said to get in touch if I feel bad.
So generally ok I guess.
I have a surgery appointment tomorrow at the hospital in Bath which is the follow up from my abscess surgery. I'm hoping if I tell them my GI is planning the EUA they will discharge me.
My Mum met me for lunch today (I travelled from Bath and back for my appointment). When I text her to say I was back she replied saying 'It was lovely to see you' and I burst into tears!
:( I think I'm just stressed out with all the work I have to do for uni and I would rather be having a constant lunch with my Mum! Now I'm back to face the music!!

I see, thanks :)
Think I prefer the sound of having infliximab through IV rather than Humira doing it myself. But its probably still a few months off yet so we will see how it goes.

Ah littlemissh--I found you! How are you--any change. Out of the hospital and back home yet? Please post on your thread or start a new one so we know how you are.

LMV--sorry for the highjack--Hang in there at Uni--not long left. Hope you are on to new and better treatments soon.

Humira isn't that bad to give and so much easier than traipsing to the day unit, having a line put in etc . But everyone has different preferences!

Happy , I haven't posted an update as I'm never sure if people want to know. I am still in hospital. I will start a new thread.

I don't like afternoon appointments! 45mins till I have to leave and its making me nervous! I can't do anything! I want it to be over so I can chill! (Apart from I'm doing a presentation tomorrow so I don't know if I will chill!)

So I waited in the waiting room for about 35-40mins. Saw the surgeon for about 3!
He had a little look and a little poke about and said: Ok, we will discharge you.
Great! :)
Just what I wanted, no one is going to do anything to me before I finish uni, and I can carry on being treated by my GI team in Reading instead of having this two-hospitals business.
He did say it looked like there was a bit of a sinus where my abscess was, but I'm not too worried about that right now, I thought as much. And my GI did mention a seton yesterday, but we will just wait and see what happens :)
