Hello My name is Kelly, 25 and fed up lol! I'm totally confused and scared, I have Crohn's and have had since I was 18, couple of ops but everythinmg has been fine for a while. recently been getting pins and needles and numbness of hands arms feet and legs, also the back of my neck and chest. Also extreme buring pain when next to anything hot, like the bath, or opening the oven, I went on the sunbed and it was awful!! also burning and tingling of my lips. The doctors is going to test me for B12 deficiency on tuesday. anyone else had these symtoms? I'm worried that it might not be B12 deficiency and something more sinister?!!?
thanks Kelly x

It is common when your body will not process B-12 from your food. I get an injection of B-12 once a month. You will develop Neuropathy and your lower limbs will go numb permanently. no reversal possible, so start getting shots, Tell your doc you need them. It is important, Mike

Hiya Kelly and welcome to the community!

As Mike said, vitamin B12 deficiency and related neuropathy is sadly far too common in people with Crohn's disease, especially those who have had a resection. Your reaction to temperature fluctuation is a little concerning but the most likely culprit is B12 deficiency. I'm glad your doctor is testing for that first.

Please keep us updated as to what they find. My suggestion would be to get the actual number from your doctor, don't let them tell you "low normal" or anything like that. Tracking and educating yourself about your actual B12 levels will be very important going forward.
