(Not sure where to post this, so please feel free to move it if it's in the wrong place)

My friend is a pharmacist and she has just told me she has found some info about bael fruit as a treatment for IBD. I haven't seen it yet, but I have never even heard of bael fruit, and I wondered if any of you more informed forum members know anything about it.

When I see the info she has I will try to pass it on (if I understand it!).

bael is a hindi word. bael fruit has been used in ayurveda for many years to treat IBD. The best part is bael not only helps people with constipation but also if you're suffering from diarrhea. It cleanses the colon...has a very cooling affect on the colon and a very good anti inflammatory. Infact the very first time you take bael, it will show you the result in your next BM. its very very effective and I remember to have mentioned about it earlier in t he forum. The english name for it is stone apple. lemme see if i can get a pic of it on the net.

Its a very common fruit in India and over here you get street vendors on the road selling the bael juice as it is very healthy.

If you dont get the fruit in your place, you can simply use the powdered bael fruit that you can get in any ayurvedic counter or order online..it is a very common medicine in ayurveda and is very easily available.,
