Hi everyone. I went for a colonoscopy on November 10th but I am still having problems. As a matter of fact it seems to have gotten worse. Does anyone know what the next step is?

Thanks

Hi Leah, you haven't really given enough detail for me to comment. Apparantly some people can find that it takes a few days for things to settle back down after a colonoscopy. I guess you need to get some results and talk to your doc. Are you on any treatment? what do you mean by things being worse?

Yes, I had the balloon dilation during the colonoscopy and the doctor said he was able to open it up a little but I'm still having cramps and diarhea.

hi leah, when i had this done usually it was the prep i had taken that caused me problems cause it strips out all the good bacteria. i had dilatation for about 2 years before i needed more surgery. then they removed the stricture. it worked very well and i was symptom free for 4 years, feel like im getting a few strictures back now. maybe try a probiotic to replace the good bugs the prep washed away.
