Hi everyone
Hospital has just got back to me regarding the above procedure which im having tomorrow. They have told me not to take the prep they sent me and have apologised profusely for even sending it.
If you have a stoma and you take the prep it can severely dehydrate you and your bag will be filling non stop. Plus whats the point if theres no poo going through the large bowel anyway?
I had 30cm of my large bowel removed and this exam is just to check the join before reattatching my large back to my small intestine.
So if your having this done and you have a stoma, ring the hospital and check. The ladies behind the desk who make these appointments generally dont know your previous history.

Absolutely, the secretaries have no clue. Sometimes they do a very light prep but usually none is necessary with the exception of fasting after midnight.

I asked if I needed to do anything at all and she said no the doctor will flush something through (I cant remember the word). Im so happy I dont have to starve for two days lol!

I was told not to eat anything after 6 p.m. the night before, but that's all. Some people have been instructed to use a cleansing enema.
