Hey all! My mom doesnt actually have crohns, but I dont know where else to ask and was hoping you wouldnt mind helping if you can. She is 83 and totally suffering with her illiostomy which was done after a dead section of bowel was removed (post-cancer radiation-related bowel death). Her original surgeon promised to look at reconnecting the bowel after a few months for it to heal, but he retired unexpectedly. Meanwhile, because she is 83, frail, and tiny, she cant get enough nutrition/fluids with the illiostomy in place, and it has totally destroyed her independence.
I figured even if this isnt Crohn's you all know something about Illiostomys and might know who the top surgeons in Philly or NYC are. My mom actually lives in Atlantic City, but she can travel a bit for the right surgeon.
Thanks for any help you can offer.
