biofeedback...
So for the 17 years I didn't have a diagnosis other than IBS from stress. I suffered from D with abdominal pain. I was told I had a spastic colon and that what happens is instead of the intestinal muscle contracting like a snake and moving stuff along, mine would contract in two places and in between would get expanded like a balloon. Now I have no idea if this was ever happening or not but that's what was in my head for along time.
Originally the way I was able to make the pain go away, for a while anyway, was to have a movement. So I'd sit on the pot and go when I really didn't have the urge. This caused it's own issues as I ran out of material to move.
So at some point I just started to teach myself biofeedback. It's hard to explain how I do it, because it's not just relaxing, but I can literally get the pain to stop with a few minutes of trying. I can even use the technique when I get hiccups, I cure my own hiccups really fast.
Now that I have a CD diagnosis and I saw the pictures of how bad my large intestine is, I'm wondering why that is working for me? Abandon the idea of the "balloon" or is that still a possibility?
