I posted this last night in Caitlyn's story but I am thinking maybe no one saw it. Have a quick question. Caitlyn had a resection from her terminal ileum to midway of the transverse colon. She never has firm stools. Sometimes partially formed but never firm. The doctor is saying now with the gastroparesis he thinks she is blocked up. We tried everything and she is passing what I call her normal stools. Is it possible she still has hard stool stuck if we never see hard stool?
Do others who have had this type of resection get hard stools or does it remain the very soft partially formed. She had her resection in 2010.

Sarah and Matt generally do not have solid bowel motions without psyllium Kim.

If Sarah sticks to a strictly vegan diet and eliminates all oils from her diet she says she does have ‘normal’ poops that ‘splash’.
I do think that over time she has had some natural take up and with what I have mentioned, and without psyllium, she may go about three times a day. The first few years post op without psyllium she was going about 6 times a day and I would say that 90% of the time it was consistently a 6 on the bristol stool chart.

With them both taking psyllium they usually go twice a day and the poop fluctuates between a 4 or a 5 on the bristol stool chart…

Unless they overdo the psyllium hard stools or constipation have never been a part of their bowel habits post op.
