Hello,
Would anyone have any suggestions for good books to read about dealing with stress, suggested activities to help cope with stress, or coping with such a chronic disease?

Hubby has often said that stress from his job is one of the biggest causes of his pain and attacks.

Books, videos, whatever information you can recommend, I'd be very grateful!

Thank you Carol!
Hubby is very new to the idea of stress management or meditation, so introductory materials that cover the basics are best. Just not sure where to start.

We'll check out your mindfulness website. Thank you!

Just take it slow.
My hubby saw me a couple of times relaxing & listening to soothing music and decided he wanted to join in! You never know - maybe try that.
There are loads of websites that allow you to download relaxing music for free. I have been downloading podcasts for mine.
Good luck!

This book is awesome and comes with mediation MP3s you can listen to to help you learn mindfulness and relaxation techniques. I have been using the book and recordings regularly for a couple years now. Definitely helps me.

Even if you never use the book...its worth it for the recordings included.

Thank you, CrohnsChicago and CeCeGo! I don't currently use meditation either, so we're both on the same learning curve. But you bring up a good point that it might be easier if we both try it out at the same time. I'll take a look at your book, CrohnsChicago!

Thank you!
