Bright red blood in stool?

Hello. It's been awhile, as I've been feeling quite well the past couple of months despite the minimal occasional pains and urges to run to the bathroom. Anyhow, lately, every couple of days I'll see bright red blood mixed in with my stool and on the toilet paper. The first couple of times there was hardly anything, but this time was much worse than before. I've been watching out for hemmies, and so far haven't found any I don't think. I do have a few places in my colon that was diagnosed with crohns, my cecum and my sigmoid colon. Could that possibly be causing me to bleed? I haven't been feeling too great the past couple of weeks. I've been really week and have only been craving liquids. And I had an MRI a few months back to look for a fistula, luckily it was clear. Is this anything I should be greatly concerned about? I'd hate to bother my mom to pay for medication when I might not need it yet. :(

If you are seeing new or increased blood, you do need to get it checked out. Bright red blood is a sign that something is bleeding toward the end of the GI tract. Bleeding from further up generally is a darker color.

Add to that you say you haven't been feeling great, it is time to be seen before things get any worse.

See a doctor - blood is never a good sign - could be just hemmi or fissure, or you may have a bigger issue. It's better to find out as soon as possible.

I have had bright red blood in my stool and just dripping on its own this time. In my case it is the ulcers in this flare. I know it is scary. I agree, get checked out. I was admitted until they controlled that part of the flare. But each doctor is different.
