Hi all. My son, on Remicade, received his flu shot 1 week ago. He has a really dark black bruise where the needle was used, doesn't hurt just looks awful. Do kids on Remicade tend to bruise easily and should it be taking so long to get better? Just today it looks like maybe s little is turning more yellowish which means it's starting to heal. Please tell me I don't need to worry about this 🙏

DS has bruises from injections
He gets lots of allergy shots

It's hit or miss
More of how the shot was given
Vs bruising
Never been an issue

We haven't had that issue with shots, but definitely with IV's. Sometimes E gets a big bruise and sometimes not, depending on how the needle goes in. Like MLP said, it's never been a problem.

My daughter bruises very easily - she has a big bruise where her flu shot was given too. Her doctors are aware of it and say not to worry about it (but she is on NSAIDs so that might be the reason for her bruising).

DS sometimes bruises and I think it's the wiggle factor. If he flinches or moves, bruise. If he is perfectly still, no bruise. Like the others have said, it's in how the needle goes in.

While I don't think he bruises any more than any other kid, I do think recovery takes a lot longer. Same with scrapes and colds. He scraped up his knee in tennis and it took months to heal.

Lavender essential oil is good for bruises.

Grace has bruising now. I was wondering if it was because her wbc count is always low.
All I know is, it started with Remicade but so far no doc seems concern.:shifty-t:

A bruises if you look at her wrong. Seriously. I've always worried people will think she is abused.

My son's legs looks like he's been through a war. Scrapes and bruises all over them. Pogo stick tricks are mostly to blame. He would get a bruise occasionally when I would give him his MTX shot, or when he had blood drawn. If there was any bleeding from the needle, it would pool under the skin and cause a bruise. And they do seem to take forever to heal.
