Very little, I had none at all and it was great. Im now on pred as my body used. I felt better in a week from starting are you on 9mg starting and dropping down to 3mg
Personally I think its wrong to anticpate side affects as it really can't be helpful, of course if you start to experience an issue that may be related then that's different. Not having a go, just be more positive. As for the drug itself it used to do wonders for me, as said 9mg is the normal dose. All the best with it.
I just got off of it recently. Long term use can cause similar side effects like Prednisone (irritability, water retention but nowhere near as bad as Prednisone) but when its short term I doubt you'll notice much of anything other than improvement. Unlike Prednisone you don't have to wean off of this medication but if it makes you feel better to wean off then by all means. I was always taken off cold turkey and never had an issue.
I've been on it for about 4 days now and have had some dizziness and nausea but, if I was to weigh the bad against the good....the good would KICK BUTT!! I feel sooooooo much better!!
It took a whole month for me to feel any better on Entocort but after a month I felt great!
I have been on it for a year now and have tried to come off it twice but felt horrific so my GI put me back on it. I dreaded the last appointment in October as I thought he'd def take me off it this time but he has said I can stay on it until at least my next appointment in 3 months I'm now on 6mg and that is keeping me very happy indeed.
I hope it does the same for you

I was on Entocort (brand name of Budesonide) for about 7 months and it put me most of the way into remission (am now on Asacol which seems to have fully put me into remission). The only side effect I experienced was headaches, and 25 mg of Amitriptyline took care of those. Other than that, I had a great experience with Entocort. I wouldn't be in remission now if not for Entocort, and remission is lovely.
Just like you and Cat, I had a great experience with Entocort. Too bad it's only temporary cause it made me feel so good so fast that I wanted to stay on it forever! Glad it's doing it's job for you
I just got off Entocort/Budesonide and I was on it for about five months. (9mg a day) Unfortunately, I experienced moon face, increased body hair growth, weird skin discolorations, and mood swings. Not such a great experience for me, and Im still dealing with some of the side effects.
