The pain I've been having through the past several months to a year has been one of a burning/cutting sensation in the descending and sigmoid colon area. Has anybody else had this or know why it 'burns' when it comes on? Is it because it's high inflammation? The rest of my large colon, which is said to be mostly inflamed based on the scan results, also gets a warm sensation when it acts up, sometimes also fattens up to the point where it cripples me and I can hardly stand up due to the tightness. In any case, what do you think? I have a colonoscopy coming up this Friday so I will post an update at some point as to what the story looks like from here on. We are leading toward an ileostomy this October/November/December. I'm actually super excited to get it cut out and make a new friend (being my stoma) lol. Love to all

I can relate to the "burning pain". Actually in my case i get a burning ffeling inside first and after that the real severe pain comes.
I think that it is from high inflammation and its the feeling of stool or gas hitting the area.

agree with you blood drama, poo going thru the highly inflamed area is the cause i think.

i remember getting that feeling when having a bm or needing to. the cramps would come in waves and it would be that awful sensation of like...burning cold almost....like ice water poured thru my intestines, right prior to pooing some. then the wave would pass, and the next one would slowly come on until it had the ice feeling.

the burning cold was necessary in order to poo though. so i think its just the pain of injured tissues having to do their job. like running a marathon on an arthritic leg.

Thanks you guys. I have my colonoscopy tomorrow morning so I'll talk to my doctor and we will see what's up. I'll post some sort of update

So I had my colonoscopy today (boy was yesterday prep ever fun). Turns out apparently there's very little, hardly any inflammation in my large intestine and that there's a bit of scar tissue but hardly any once again. All my pain seems to come from the large bowel area. I'm sort of confused now. I have an x-ray coming up this Wednesday of the small intestine to see if that's maybe the issue here.
Will re-post next week with an update!
