My feet have always been sensitive, but lately they hurt easier. This morning, just walking is hurting! I have a burning sensation, and they feel raw. I got my diabetes test last month and I'm in the clear, could this be just inflammation or another side effect from the prednisone? I already have to do cataract surgery because of that demon drug, I'm not currently on any medicine, though I will be starting 6-MP this weekend. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks my fellow crohnies!

Hi Carey, have you had your B12 checked? It can be so important for ppl with cd.
Hope you feel better soon.

Good idea ngng ;) I don't know where my head is sometimes.
But we have to keep an eye on our B12 too and the pain she mentioned made me think B12. So many use to think it would not be an issue until after a resection but if the bowel (ileum) is damaged/scarred possibly inflamed it can't absorb properly ~this very important vitamin.

I use the B12 complex that melts in your mouth, a gel that is berry flavored. So I think it helps to get it into your bloodstream better that way. It has folic acid and vit c as well.

Best to have it checked since our bodies store it normally but if the ileum is affected stores can be depleted so injections are actually one of the best forms of getting it. The ileum needs to be healthy to be able to absorb the B12. From what I read you have to be careful with folic acid (B6) since too mach can actually cause nerve damage. So it is one you wouldn't want to take too much of. Vit C if taken in high amounts can cause more D.
When in doubt, ask the Dr. ;)
