Hi all

Quick question - does anyone else completely burn up every time they eat? I know fevers and night sweats are a common symptoms of CD and I do get the sweats at night when flaring but for years now, I burn up every single time I eat. My body temperature just soars up and I start pouring with sweat on my face, back, chest, legs. It's so horrible and uncomfortable and quite embarrassing really if I'm eating out in public. It seems to be worse with bigger meals but even if I have a small bite for lunch, I will start burning up about 10 minutes after finishing. With bigger meals, it may even start before I've even finished eating. It takes me a while to cool back down again and I usually have to remove my clothes because I just feel like I'm on fire.

I have no idea if this is related to CD or not.

Thanks in advance.

Sarah

My son had sweating after meals when he was first diagnosed with Crohn's before the medicine began to work.

Yes! I do this almost every time I eat, I don't know why. It is quite annoying and embarrassing, yet I can't figure out what is causing it.

I'm thinking it must be related to the Crohn's surely?! Especially if your son also suffered with it before his meds xmdmom. I too would love to know exactly what causes it though. Definitely one to ask my Consultant when I see her next!

I burn up when I get cramps or go to the washroom rather than when I eat! I've heard that thermoregulation issues are common with autoimmune disorders, though.
