calm before the storm

I'v decided to be a real rebel this week and eat tons of fruit and fibre, huge amounts. I have been waiting for the result; expecting to be on the toilet 24/7 while it all went through me. However much to my amazement my bowels have been quite normal, even being constipated on a few occasions. I haven't had to run to the toilet each morning while my cup of coffee runs straight throuh me for a few days now. I do feel quite bloated though and my stomach has become swollen. I am wondering if something is going on, is this the calm before the storm and am I going to be sorry for indulging in all this fruit and fibre. Has this happened to anyone else.

Hmm generally when I am being a rebel, I pay for it within hours! However, the last time I rebelled I was not completely in remission. Maybe you are in remission and your bowels were ready for fibre again? The bloating probably means you have introduced too much fibre too quickly, as your system is not used to it. If you back off and reintroduce fruit and fibre slowly you should have less of a problem. E.g. begin by eating a piece of fruit with breakfast every day. A few days later add veggies with dinner, and so on.
