I was just wondering who signed their kids up for Camp Oasis? If you did which camp will they be going to? Is this their first time or have they been to camp in the past?

I signed my son up to go to the Camp in Washington. This will be his first year going.

I have looked into it but the camps are nowhere near where I have relatives that could take my daughter. They are just starting a camp up here in Nova Scotia, Canada it is a lottery to go but we are going to try. I think the purpose behind Camp Oasis is fantastic and I hope they can have more camps so more can go.

Yes, JMrogers son has gone in the past and is going this year. We actually live about 15 min away from eachother and our boys are the same age. We are going to try and get them together and hang out before they go.

Violet went to Camp Oasis's West Virginia camp in 2009 and is going again this year. She loved it, I was horrified that the cabins are not air conditioned, no mirrors above sink in the shared bathroom  and are "rustic" but she didn't care.

Yep, Jack wouldn't miss it - Camp Oasis in Washington. Most of the cabins overlook the sound and the boys will usually spend at least one night sleeping out on the deck overlooking the sound. There is a salt water lagoon to swim in although it's usually quite cold, they have a polar bear swim one morning and bonfires on the beach.
Last year Mike Mcready from Pearl Jam came to camp and talked to all the kids, played his guitar and gave them all autographed cd's.
Jack is pretty excited to have someone else going to camp as he has been the only one from here to go.

Jaedyn is signed up for camp in Washington. Planning on sending her for the 2nd year if we get help from CCFA for her flight again... She loved it.

My son went in 2012 and will again this summer to the one near Los Angeles (2013 was canceled for fire). It's a fantastic program!

Just got the best news!!! Crohns and Colitis Canada just called. My daughter was selected to go to http://www.campgot2go.ca Canada's 'Camp Oasis'. This is the 1st year for people in Ontario & Quebec to go. Only 20 kids were selected and she is one!!!!

That's great! Jack looks forward to camp every year and will bypass many other opportunities to go to camp because he doesn't want to miss it. I'm so excited for her. YAY!

I have looked into camp oasis for D, but the travel alone to get there would be outrageous. I hope they continue with Camp Got2Go for future years and it opens up to all like camp oasis! You have to love the name...

Me too, SM! I know I couldn't send my daughter without help from CCFA for the flight reasons. I'd love for every child with Crohn's to get to go!
