Hi All. Just a quick question. I have a slipped disk in my back - extremely painful. I am waiting for scan and then can have cortisone injection. In the meantime I can't any painkillers as they all upset my gut and I am currently managing a flare with Modulen, so don't want to do anything to rock the Crohn's boat. My back specialist has suggested Diazepam as a muscle relaxant just for a few days. I can't find anything to indicate I shouldn't take it, but wanted to ask if any of you out there have had any problems with this drugs. Thanks.

I've had it a few times with no problems. I also had it as a painkiller when doctors didn't want me having opiates due to the way they slow the bowel. Diazepam is addictive though so take it for no more than a couple of days if possible.

Thanks very much. I have taken opiates, and they did cause me problems with my bowel, so I do agree with what you say and won't take them. I can't believe I have a slipped disk, but I lost a lot of weight in a Crohn's flare and had some muscle wastage which I think weakened my back. Honestly, if it's not one thing, it's another! Thanks again.
