I have adhesions; my ascending colon is stuck to my abdominal wall (not that any medical professional ever thought it worth the while to actually TELL me this :( - I found it written up in the surgical report when they removed my appendix - but anyway .... ). I feel lucky, I don't generally have any pain from them, but last week I moved a great heavy piece of furniture and it felt like I sharply 'pulled' in that area and it's been aching off and on ever since.

It's not major pain and I don't seem to be having any other problems from it. It just doesn't feel like a muscle thing and I just wondered if you can, indeed, 'pull' adhesions and make yourself hurt?

I suppose you could...but it could also just be a pulled muscle..

Sorry this isn't more helpful!

I have adhesions, not from Crohn's but from an abdominal hysterectomy, inciscion was vertical instead of horizontal.

Let me just say, I don't know if you can pull them, but it sure FEELS that way! I've bent down to get something and YOUCH! A sharp pull and burning pain that takes your breath away.

But it doesn't last, so it's over as quick as it happens, so I agree with Nyx-could be a muscle pull.

I have adhesions too. My doc says the biggest problem is depending on what side the adhesion is and where it connects to... well, let's just remember that your intestines need to be able to roll and spasam and constrict in and expand out... so that's my theory on most of my sharp pains. Stuff is trying to move around and it's having issues. :)

Not sure if that helps, but I hope it does a lil. <3
