Hey all - thought I'd take a minute to check in from Upstate NY - we are still dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Irene, and it looks like we will be doing so for a while.....
I am on night #2 of 4 working- 48 hours overtime this weekend working 12 hour shifts....I also just picked up a long day shift working at one of our Regional Operations Centers which is local to me - about 30 minutes...so as of right now, I'm scheduled to work 12 days straight...
For those of you who are not aware, or may not have heard/seen - Upstate NY had devestating floods - one town literally wiped off the map - majority of the buildings destroyed by flood waters.....local mand had 22 horses lost in the flood - we thing a few may have been found - not sure....
Then, to top if off - we are expecting another 3-6 inches of rain according to the latest National Weather Service reports.....
If anyone wants to see video and pictures of some of hte damage we are dealing with - go to you tube and search for Prattsville flooding - lots of saddening video there. The only consolation is the low loss of life...I think 6 people total around the State lost their lives - 1 was a local farmer who drove around a road block into a washed out road and drowned. :yfrown::frown:
