Hello, just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and could offer any advice… I started amgevita (adalimumab) for treatment of my chrons about 3 years ago. Around the same time I started getting prolonged sinus infections and I’ve since had two sinus surgeries, most recently October 2024. I continue to have ongoing sinus infection which comes with a lot of issues that really impact my quality of life. I know that sinus infections are a known side effect of taking biologics however my ENT wasn’t entirely convinced that this is why I’m continuing to have issues with infection. My gastro team haven’t really confirmed it either and because my chrons is so well managed on this medication I’m reluctant to change it. I wonder has anyone else had a similar experience?

Biologics make it more likely for you to get secondary infections
Not primary infections
Add in some folks have primary immunodeficiency.
Make sure you have testing for primary immunodeficiency since getting sick a lot tends to be more along those lines and less along the biologic as the cause
My ibd kiddo started biologics at 8 - now 21.
Far less colds /other infections than my DH or other kiddo who did not take biologics .
Immunologist would be able to tell you what the cause of the infections .

Good luck
