So I have been having a bad flare, and I don't like tight clothing around my waist when I am already having pain and am uncomfortable. As a teacher, I need to dress nice everyday for work, but don't know what to wear that looks nice and is not constricting. I also live in Upstate NY where it's cold for ever... It snowed yesterday on Easter.

Do anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks

Long kurtas and loose fitting leggings/stretchy pants underneath.

Dresses and leggings are what I live in. I have fleece lined pairs for the winter so I dont freeze.

Have you tried maternity pants? They look just like normal jeans or slacks but they have the bands to allow space for your stomach and you can fold them however you like.

I also wear maternity panty hose, you can pull them all the way up so they don't constrict your waist. They're the only way for me to wear a dress or skirt with boots.
I also have dress pants (slacks in the US?) that are fully stretchy, and usually a size too big, without a zip so flat across the tummy and then wear something looser over it, they look great and help reduce the eternal pregnant look:biggrin:

I almost always wear leggings with a dress (skirts are too tight around the waist or don't stay up as I'm too thin). I have some leggings that look almost like tights so with the right dress they don't look that casual.

OMG Thanks! :mademyday:

I am glad I am not the only one who is dealing with this. I don't want to look frumpy and sick, just be as comfortable as I can and portray that I am OK at work at least.

Well, at least you can do the dresses in warmer weather. I am a male teacher, same issue from time to time. Our elastic waistbands don't tend to stretch so much!

It was seriously considered as an option on my wedding day though - I do have a Scottish surname with Nova Scotian heritage.
