Cold chills low body weight

Does anyone have the cold chills. I get them alot lately and dont know if it is because I only weigh 108. I also have some petechie (tiny little dots) only about 5 in various locations. They say this is caused by low platelets but I have never had low platelets. Just recently I was low on red blood cells, hgb and hct but that has returned to normal ( I had surgery 3 weeks prior a D and C and Ablation). Also does everyone have a normal temperature of 98.6?.

Hi Mary,
I don't have the chills, or low body weight so i can't really help too much, sorry, i just wanted to say that i hope you get things figured out soon!
A 'normal' temp can be anywhere for 97.5-99.4 i believe, so i wouldn't worry too much unless it's over 100, usually closer to 101 i think is when they want people to be aware.

I am not small either but I do get chills almost every night and my face goes flushed a bit but no fever, sometimes it is your body fighting off the disease or attacking itself. My white counts never match up or a fever shows up either. I always thought I was a strange bird... hope you feel better soon.

Hi there Mary - I noticed having petechie about a year ago myself; I would have (and continue to have) maybe 50 tiny pinpricks for my whole body. I brought it up to my doc and he said that the amount I have is not indicative of anything including low platelet count. He said that a person in real trouble has thousands of them, some even appearing as bright reddish/purple bruises there's so many. I would of course mention it to your doc next time you go in, but until then don't worry about it too much.
