Colestid/Colestipol

I just want to inform anyone taking these that they cannot be taken with other medications like entocort, azathioprine, or lialda. Colestipol has to be taken 2 hours after because of the binding agent. I have been on colestipol with Lialda etc for years and just found out this past monday.... You can understand how angry I was.

Also entocort cannot be taken with grapefruit juice.

Odd how doctors and pharmacists forget to tell you important things like these.

Thank you for sharing. The more I'm learning about all these drugs the more I'm seeing that many people aren't being told EXTREMELY important information.

Same thing happened to me ,I have been taking Aza with Colestid for the last two months, neither the Gi or the pharmacist noticed or pointed it out ,that they needed to be taken at different times. Fills you with confidence ! .
