On occasion I get this idiopathic, colicky central chest pain. Is this a common Crohn's symptom? It feels like it could be cardiac pain (of course I am not really sure what that feels like), but the nature of it is that it builds to a discomfort then it ebbs...sort of like a peristaltic or gassy pain. The pain never becomes overwhelmingly bad, just very uncomfortable. However, sometimes it feels as if it is going to build to being very painful, but always cuts off before getting there.
I have had the full cardiac workup which was negative. BP perfect, cholesterol perfect, no family history of early cardiac death, no diabetes, no shortness of breath, don't smoke. I do have a history of panic attacks and I do drink three cups of coffee per day (counterintuitive, I know).
