Perhaps my least favorite Crohn's-related issue (second to throwing up, of course) is nausea. And today has been filled with... nausea. AH! I woke up this morning fairly certain that I was going throw up, but at least I never did. Phew!

So, nausea. Do you wonderful people have suggestions, tips, tricks, etc. etc. etc. for combatting Crohn's-induced nausea? Today's diet has been (appropriately) bland -- toast for breakfast, a PB&J sandwich and some pretzels for lunch, rice with beans, some cheese, some spinach, and a little dab of hummus for dinner. I'm trying to stay hydrated with water. But maybe ginger ale would help?

How do you deal with it? What do you usually do?

Have you ever done a food diary to see which foods upset your gut? You might do ginger ale like you said. I would stick with stuff like toast, chicken noodle soup, apple sauce and stuff like that for now.

I found my nausia had come back with avengance after stopping steroids. But got better after a few weeks. I find making sure i eat on time helps me, and also if i have acid it makes it happen badly. I have had anti sickness pills before with kidney infections, maybe your GI would let you have some for when its bad?

Just before I was diagnosed my nausea was horrendous and the less I ate the worse it got. Bloody catch 22!!

I find that natural yoghurt with honey helps me. Hope you get some relief soon!

Often the case with me too. I found that forcing myself to eat would make me feel much better even though it was the last thing I wanted to do. Also, and this is a bit counter-intuitive, fizzy drinks helped.

I still don't have a firm diagnosis but just had another colonoscopy yesterday and my nausea is back with a vengeance. Along with a lot of tummy and bowel rumbling. Food or no food....nothing is working. uggh

I only have really bad nausea while having stomach ache in the loo.I actually keep a bowl in the laundry basket that's within easy reach of the loo_Once the pain subsides, the nausea goes,so mine is not food related luckily.

interesting to read this. I'm undiagnosed but I seem to have bouts of pain attacks and when I do, I get nauseous and can't stop vomiting. Once the pain subsides a few hours later, the nausea is gone as well

Have you had your pancreas checked? Where is the pain?

When I get nausea, it seems to be worse first thing and eating some toast generally makes it go away.

If I get it throughout the day, it generally stays with me and means I am going to be visiting the loo a lot! At these times I take an anti-nausea tablet like Cyclizine. The other thing that seems to help me is salty crisps (not many, just one or two).

I would definitely have some tablets available in case you need them. I used to use Domperidone but my consultant stopped them as apparently they can cause heart palpitations!

Have you tried Domperidone? Its pretty good for stopping sickness/nausea. The other thing I found very helpful is Ginger Biscuits eaten without a drink. Worked for me.
Good luck
Grant
