Common symptom?

I'm still not diagnosed but after a stool test showing a very positive inflammation in the gut the consultants almost certain I have IbD. Im getting a colonoscopy on Wednesday. I have loads of bad sore embarrassing symptoms and currently having a flare up. Iv been so unwell and sore for weeks. I just wondered, probably a silly question, but is it normal for your stomach to swell out, my stomach has done that a few times but today I actually look so fat, it looks like I'm pregnant! But obv im not lol. Is that a normal symptom, at the moment this flare up is causing Sudden rush to toilet, really bad pain, feel sick, lots of gas and very swollen stomach.

So I guess my question is, is the very swollen stomach a normal symptom x

My little Grace gets that. She also is still undiagnosed.
Hers last long periods of time.
Matter of fact we notice it more when she thins back to normal.
Her GI said swollen GI track but never told us why.
