Hello everyone,

I just had a laparoscopic ileocolic resection on May 20th, 2013. I have healed really well and feel great. As I was looking over my hospital discharge papers, I noticed this section titled, "Comorbidities". Under that heading it said that they discovered a "Sessile Serrated Adenoma" in the part of the colon that was removed. I looked online as to what that was. I found out it is a type of pre-cancerous fibroid. I talked to my surgeon about it at my post-op appointment. He didn't seem concerned, but I really am. I know that Crohn's patients have a higher incidence of colon cancer, AND they found this pre-cancerous fibroid.....should I be this worried? Has anyone else had this happen?

Thanks....

Hey Tiger :) I don't have experience with this, but just wanted to offer my support and bump your post as sometimes posts get overlooked when the forum is quiet over the weekends. Glad to hear that surgery went well and you are feeling good.
I find it a little strange that they didn't mention their findings to you after the op and before your discharge, but maybe that is a good sign?
