Hi folks. I am just posting my concerns because I feel I have no one to talk to about being sick at this time. Its a burden to my wife and family, and having a negative impact on my work abilities.

My disease is under control with humira, but a stricture is causing daily symptoms of partial blockage: constant gassy rumblings, diarrhea and constipation alternating back and forth, very frequent nausea, tenderness that moves around, but most lower right quarter (terminal ileum), and some dizziness. Today, these are all a bit worse. I am feeling a bit like vomiting might come next.

So, all of this has me feeling really shitty and down in the dumps emotionally.

I will have a consult with a surgeon in about 1 month to talk about taking out the fibrotic /strictured part of my small bowel.

Any support or advice is welcome, but mostly just need to put this all into words.

Thanks.

Hi Adam

I know where you are coming from. The Crohns problems don't ever seem to go away lately.

Please feel free to unburden yourself on this forum.

A resection may be the best thing at this point since your Crohn's seems to be under control (assuming the stricture is mainly if not all scar tissue) yet the stricture is causing some pretty bad symptoms. If you do start vomiting, running a fever and/or the pain is extremely bad please don't hesitate at going to the ER. Blockages can be deadly so take care of yourself. I had a resection to remove a stricture as well and even though surgery is pretty rough it can give you much needed relief. Keep us posted! :)
