I have had 2 colonoscopies this year at cleveland clinic-both showing active ileitis and colitis "suggestive of Crohns". My blood tests for Crohns were negative and I don't have diarhea. I do have alot of pelvic pressure, reflux, pre-diabetes diagnosed this year (I am 5 lbs. overweight and don't have it in my family),intermittant anemia etc. I have also been thru so many scans as I had one neuroendocrine tumor marker that was high. No tumor was found on any scan.I am desperate to find out what is wrong with me. Questions:Has anyone had a sub-clinical kind of Crohns? Has anyone developed pre-diabetes with Crohns that is not related to meds.? Has anyone had any skin blotches on arms or odd facial sensations? Is anyone overweight without taking meds? My son does have a recurring fistula but Crohns has not yet been diagnosed for him, and my mom has M.S. I am stumped and would appreciate greatly any feedback. Thank you so much.::

:welcome: Downtown1....This disease has so many variables involved, sometimes it is hard to have a clear diagnosis...There are so many people here on this forum with symptoms completely different from my own.....I hope someone comes along who can answer your questions. I just wanted to welcome you to the site.

sub clinical crohn's? I think many if not all of us had "something wrong" that we complained about a few times to a GP that got brushed aside. I'm not GP bashing here, as Crohn's is a disease by description of physical symptoms. My understanding of it is that you do not have it until you have serious troubles because the diagnosis of the disease is based on Those Serious Symptoms such as a stricture, Fistula or granuloma in inflamed tissue. We all had some kind of IBD prior to getting so sick they diagnosed us through to visible damage that qualified as Crohn's Disease.

thank you

I really appreciate your responses and would love feedback from anyone else with an unusual presentation. I don't know if this will end up being Crohns or not...even Dr. Lashner at Cleveland Clinic is not sure if it is or not and says the biopsies look like Crohns, but my symptoms don't and I don't look like a typical Crohns person because I have gained weight (not on meds). Not sure where to turn. Thank you very much.

Downtown... welcome! No two people are alike with diagnosis. IT can take many months for a clear diagnosis, I didnt bleed but had pain (in my original dx) and I am not diabetic but my family has it IBD . Autoimmune diseases create a lot of things that we all dont have symptoms of. Some had D and some constipate, some gain weight, some lose alot. Until you have the Gi get the perfect spot for a biopsy and trust me they can be miss I am proof of that, even just recently with a "colitis in large bowel" now. Sorry all your questions all can't be met, but some one maybe able to help or get a second opinion? Take care.

Hello Downtown1. The time that I was diagnosed with crohn's I never had diahrrea but I did have pelvic pressure/pain. My abdomen was a bit distended as well. I had swelling at the lower right quadrant. That was where the abcess developed. You don't always have to have all of the symptoms to have crohn's disease and the blood tests aren't always accurate.

Hope this helps:)

I'm the same as Wolfem. After I was admitted to the hospital for severe abdominal pains they found out I had an abscess. But, I did not experience any of the other typical symptoms associated with Crohn's like chronic diarrhea and the like.

Have you consulted with multiple doctors about your case? If not, perhaps get a second opinion.

It's possible too fain weight with crohns an no meds

it depends where your cd is located
if in the large bowel then your body is still able too absorb the nutrints it needs plus more , as the smaller bowel is where all the food and nutrients are absorbed
it's normally when you hav cd in the smaller bowel region that you will loose weight as your body cannot absorb the required nutrients it needs

your best bet is too keep persisting an if need be get multiple opinions
don't jus settle on one or two if you don't feel happy

after all most ppl get more than one quote too fix there car....... So why not for ya own body???
