Hi All,

Iv spent 2 weeks in hosp with a large, deep ulcer in my bowel. They told me for the next month to have half supplement drinks and half food, they limited me to only chicken, fish, rice and potato's. Unfortunatly i cant eat wheat so thats why bread and pasta isnt included in that.

However i havent been to the toilet for 4days now!! iv always had awful toilet issues with my crohns, never experienced constipation! im wondering what i should do? this happened to anyone else or got any tips?

thanks
xxxxx

I dream of constipation! Sorry that's not too helpful - I am just finishing an eight week liquid (Fresubin) diet the going onto Lofflex (is that right?) diet. I guess we are all interested in results of different diets.

Wish you all the best.

Robert747 - yeah i used to wish for constipation every day too! i thought nothing could be worse then going to the toilet 7-9 times a day and being embarrassed from the awful smell it would make, but i feel a dull ache constantly at the moment :/

i take my hat off to you for doing the fresubin diet for 8weeks, really well done! i done it for 4 days and completely broke down, i felt so sick with all that liquid, so thats why they suggested half and half.

never heard of Lofflex but hope it works for you! x

Well I am no expert but,,,,,,,, Completing 6 or 8 weeks of Fresubin / Fortisip gives the body a great opportunity to recover. I was in hospital the first 10 days of the 8 weeks and the very thought of the drinks made me sick - I was down to 1 a day - when they threatened to put a tube up my nose I suddenly found I could drink them!!! Eight a day now and I actually enjoy them.

Just for information have a look at Lofflex diet as I think it is becoming used more - will I get on with it? after 8 weeks of this - you bet!
