Cost of Humira

Hi hello, Im pretty much new to the forum.

I was officially diagnosed with Crohns in 2013 but I've been misdiagnosed since 2010. I suffer from complex perianal fistulas and abscesses. I only have been on antibiotics (Cipro & Flagyl). I just finished a course (Suprax & Flagyl) and Im still flaring up. A Bartholin abscess is currently forming... I cant take Cipro anymore - it worsens my anxiety and depression a lot.

So, obviously I havent been getting treated. My doctor wants me to take Humira along with Imuran but I cant afford Humira. Ive been looking for an insurance plan that would cover it in my country but I couldnt get lucky...

I live in Bahrain and I was wondering if there is any way to obtain this drug. Im in desperate need of it. Any input would be appreciated. :sign0085:

Hi, I am also new to this forum. This is actually the first response/post I've made. I take Humira 40mg/weekly that insurance didn't want to cover. Check out AbbVie Patient Assistance Program. It can be a pain to get started with them because of all the paper work etc, but it is worth it to be able to take my medication. Hope this helps! Best of luck!

there's a lot of useful information here.
as per your question, the cost of humira injuction is different from one country to another, but roughly around $300, around (110 Bahraini dinar).

here in Kuwait, luckily our government pays for it, am not so sure what the situation in Bahrain but I think you should check with governmental hospitals an insurances company. because it is accumulatively very costly!

Half Kuwaiti though and I was thinking if I should take Humira in Kuwait. I have a Kuwaiti civil ID. I can get a referral to Al Ameeri hospital, do you know if there's a waiting list and/or period?
Also, do you happen to know the price of Humira in Kuwait?

I'm sorry to hear about the waiting thing, but since you're have Kuwaiti and gladly things here are tend to be easier, my suggestion to you to come here and through GI you can get the treatment.
usually you have to do some medical test before, shouldn't take more than 1 week, and then you can get the medication after some formalities that should be singed.

lastly, the dosage they provide for 2 months, therefore, you'll need to come here to get you're dosage as per your schedule.

my experience so far has been very pleasant and It did change my life happily than it used to be.

I'm glad you were able to get your medication through the assistance program. I just applied for one this week.. how long did it take for yours to be processed?
